A dynamic and powerful therapy that quickly helps to reset the body’s structure and energetic system. The technique is non-invasive yet powerful hands on whole body therapy.
Thomas Ambrose Bowen developed the Bowen Technique in the 50's in Geelong, Australia. Bowen is a manual therapy that treats not only musculoskeletal imbalances in the body but also powerful for anxiety, depression, digestive issues and more. The technique is gentle rolling moves using thumbs and fingers along the body that effect fascia, muscles, ligaments, nerves, tendons and nervous system. Unlike other modalities where bones may be pushed into place or force is applied into muscles, with Bowen we do not need to apply massive pressure to a structure that is already tight, very little pressure is applied to unwind the fascia and this addresses the tensional relationships of the connective tissue.
All systems in the body are connected and when one area is held in tension another is compensating, cause and effect, so when we make a Bowen move we are effecting the Fascia (connective tissue) which is connected to everything else in the body. This powerful technique works through fascial release and integration stimulating all structures of the body, relaxing the body on a deep level, frequently resulting in immediate resolution and often longterm pain-free body.

“Lily Eslahjou, my yoga teacher, introduced me to Bowen about 6 months ago – I had never heard of before. I was trying to find some kind of treatment that could help my body recover from nagging, stubborn aches and pains that were sometimes preventing me from putting 100% into my active lifestyle. Bowen has helped me with my hamstrings, lower back and most impressively, with my neck. My stiff neck flared up a few months ago, and Lily treated me 2 days later. By the end of my session I was pain free, and had full range of motion again – I was amazed! What I love about Bowen is it’s very gentle, and I feel that it does what it claims – which is realign one’s body so that energy can flow smoothly, removing any blocks or unhealthy patterns. There is less tension throughout me. I am grateful to have experienced the positive effects of Bowen from Lily Eslahjou” — Erminia Lombardi
